Arsenic & Old Lace
by Joseph Kesselring
August 3, 4, 5, 6, 2017
Directed by Mark and Kristin Wheeler
Comedy ensues as we meet the charming and innocent ladies who populate their cellar with the remains of socially and religiously "acceptable" roomers; the antics of their nephew who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt; and the activities of the other nephew—these require no further description or amplification here.
Mark Wheeler directed Cats last year at TIP and Jane Eyre: The Musical in 2015. He has
appeared in numerous area productions including STC's A Chorus Line, Les Miz
(MUNI/HCFTA), Leaving Iowa (TIP), Track Home (STC), Little Shop of Horrors (STC)
Murder Mystery (STC), Pajama Game (TIP), Full Monty (STC), Rock Of Ages (STC).
Other directing credit includes: Wedding Singer (STC). Mark is a Personnel Officer 404th
MEB, Illinois Army National Guard, Normal Illinois. This production is in memory of those pets
he has lost; Lucy, Autumn, Taz, Cookie, and Stripes.
Kristin Wheeler is excited to be directing this hilarious farce at her favorite outdoor venue.
She previously vocal directed for Jane Eyre: The Musical at Tip, co-directed STC's Music
Man, Jr., and created costumes for TIP's CATS: The Musical. You may have seen her
onstage as Grizabella in TIP's CATS, Linda in STC's The Wedding Singer: The Musical,
and Mama Bear in The Muni's Shrek: The Musical. Kristin works as an Assistant Director
for the Illinois Board of Higher Education and lives in Rochester with her wonderful husband,
Mark, 3 kids, and 4 cats, and sits on the the TIP Board of Directors.
