SYNOPSIS

A 1970 musical comedy revolving around Robert (a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage), the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends. Company is a concept musical composed of short vignettes, presented in no particular chronological order, linked by a celebration for Robert's 35th birthday.

'Company'' is not a play with a story line as much as it is a bitter-sweet musical essay about marriage While ''Company'' is extremely romantic, it is not a fantasy. The show's power comes from the fact that the various marriages are shown with all of the pain, the compromises and the sheer hard work that it takes to keep them going. These are people who fight, who drink too much, who plan divorces and who struggle on a day-to-day basis. Yet, in spite of all the problems faced by the couples ''Company'' portrays, the show makes the statement that the end result of all the effort is worth it.
