Enter slick con man Harold Hill, who has just arrived by train to impose his charismatic and charming personality on the small town of River City, Iowa; posing as traveling salesman of band instruments and uniforms to naive Iowa town folk. Harold is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons but not before he collects payment. However, he wasn't expecting to fall for the town librarian and piano teacher, Marian Paroo. Marian sees through him with the help of Mrs. Paroo, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love. Harold's for friend in crime, Marcellus, tries to sway Harold away from River City, but Harold's in too deep to stop. Harold risks being caught to win Marian and face the tribe of citizens he has deceived along the way. Fun and laughter for the whole family, be sure to check out this Tony award winning show.

meet the directorBill Bauser

Bill Bauser, Jr. (Director/Vocal Director) has directed, vocal directed, or choreographed numerous productions for MUNI, Springfield Theatre Centre (STC), TIP, PORTA, and Sacred Heart-Griffin (SHG). Bill teaches music and drama at SHG, is music director at the United Methodist Church in Petersburg , and serves as treasurer and PAVE Administrator of Springfield Theatre Centre. He last directed at Theater in the Park in 2004 with The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and is honored to be back to direct The Music Man.
