Where do I buy tickets?
Purchase tickets online at theatreinthepark.net, by calling 217-725-0239, or purchase (assuming tickets are still available) at the theatre the evening of the performance.
Where is Theatre in the Park located?
We are located at Lincoln’s New Salem State Historic site in Petersburg, Illinois. The address is 15588 History Lane, Petersburg, IL 62675.
Is it general admission seating?
Yes. Your ticket provides admission for any seat in the house.
When do the gates open prior to the performance?
The theatre opens at 6:45 p.m. and performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
What is needed for admission?
When you place your ticket order, you will receive a confirmation email with your tickets attached. Please feel free to print them or use the digital image for admission. If you misplace your tickets, please visit the box office just outside of the venue, and we will verify your ticket purchase for you.
What is your Inclement Weather Policy?
In the event of inclement weather, Theatre in the Park will consult available weather radar and local forecast to make a determination whether to delay or cancel all or a portion of a performance for the safety of our patrons, cast, crew and volunteers.
Prior to start Theatre in the Park will make every attempt to notify patrons on its website, Facebook page, and by email if a cancellation is made by one hour prior to performance. Depending on conditions, Theatre in the Park may delay the start of a performance for a maximum of up-to one hour before cancellation. Theatre in the Park may interrupt a show for a maximum of 30 minutes before cancellation.
If a show has played for a total of one hour, rain checks will not be issued. If a show has not played for one hour or is cancelled prior to intermission, please retain your ticket. Your ticket may be exchanged for a seat at a subsequent performance.
A performance has not been cancelled until an announcement has been made from the speaker system.
Is Theatre in the Park accessible?

Are food and drinks allowed?
Yes, Theatre in the Park has a variety of concessions available!
Can I take pictures or record the performance?
Picture taking and video recording are prohibited during the performance. We request all patrons silence their phones during the performance. However, you’re welcome to request photos with the performers after the performance.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?
At this time Theatre in the Park does not offer refunds or exchanges. However, if the performance is cancelled prior to the start of the second act, you can use your ticket for admission to another performance later in the season. Please refer to our Inclement Weather Policy for weather-related issues.
Can I purchase tickets as a gift?

Are there restaurants near Theatre in the Park?
Yes! There are several choices in the Petersburg area just north of Lincoln’s New Salem.
